How to Make Playlist Private on Spotify mobile app

Many of you have your own reasons to make your Spotify playlist private and today I am going to tell you the whole process in simple steps.

Here are the steps to make a playlist Private on Spotify using the Spotify mobile app.

Step 1: Open the Spotify app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, and then tap your library in the menu at the bottom of this screen. The Your Library screen opens.

Step 2: Tap Playlist at the top of the screen to see all of your Spotify playlists. Tap the Spotify playlist you want to make private. The Spotify playlist opens.

Step 3: Tap the three dots directly above the songs in this playlist. A menu opens.

Step 4: Tap Make Private In this menu, a window pops up warning you that if you make this Spotify playlist private, only you and the people you invite will be able to view this playlist.

Step 5: Tap Make Private.

When you make a Playlist Private on Spotify, only you and the people you invite can listen to it.

A message will pop up at the bottom of the screen letting you know that the playlist is now private, and you’ll see a padlock icon displayed next to the total playlist time.

Note: You can make this playlist public again at any time by tapping the 3 dots and then tapping Make Public.

How to Make Playlist Private on Spotify desktop app

Now, let’s go through the steps to make a Spotify playlist private using the Spotify desktop app.

Step 1: To open your library in Spotify, launch the app and click on the Your Library icon in the menu along the left edge of the screen. This will expand the Your Library section of the menu.

Step 2: Click Playlist. In this menu, you’ll now only see your Spotify playlist in this section.

Step 3: Click the Spotify playlist you want to make private. The Spotify playlist opens.

Step 4: Click the three dots directly above the songs in this playlist. A menu opens.

Step 5: Click Make Private.

This playlist is private, as indicated by the note above the playlist name. This means that only you and those you have given permission to can view it. If you want to make your playlist public, you can do so by changing the privacy settings in the playlist editor.

Again the main thing to be noted, only you and other people you invite will be able to listen to this Spotify playlist. You can make this playlist public again at any time by tapping the 3 dots And then tapping Make Public.
